Editing out vital parts of interviews in order to mislead the public, is a typical and ongoing bullying tactic in the illiberal Western media. It has been happening for decades, and is one of the main methods used to defame those “we do not like” and hail those “we like”, and this way uphold a certain childlike narrative on who “is evil” in the world, and who are “the good”.
The world, on the other hand, does not function according to a Walt Disney cartoon in which characters are “good or bad”. The world is widely complex and pluralistic, and this is presisely why we need a media that does not edit out those parts that do not fit some specific narrative. We need to learn from each other about the complexities of cultures in order to avoid conflict, and portray what is really said and done – not only the propaganda edited version.
Watch below the elements that were edited out when NBC anchor, Megyn Kelly’s interview with president Vladimir Putin aired in the US. Kelly was, as stated earlier, invited to St. Petersburg as a moderator during one of the sessions held in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
