The US Coalition have illegally deployed units from the US and the Norwegian Special Forces Unit on Syrian soil, at the Al-Tanf area in Syria, bordering on Iraq, close to the main road between Damascus and Bagdad. This is in complete violation against all international law. The US and its allies, in this case the Norwegians, have not been granted permission by the Syrian state to enter Syrian territory, nor have they required to get this permission from Damascus.
Stating the aim was to prevent an ISIS attack, troops now actively fight the Syrian Arab Army instead of ISIS.
It is most peculiar. The Syrian Arab Army is fighting ISIS, Norwegian and American troops are fighting the Syrian Arab Army.
There has been attacks on the Syrian Arab army the past weeks, two this week alone, claiming the Syrians violated a “de-escalation zone” that the US has created within Syrian borders without permission from the Syrians or without agreement with any other state.
The real goal of the US led troops may more go along the lines of preventing Syria from regaining the control over the border between Syria, Iraq and Jordan. Norwegian troops violating Syrian border is in violation of all international law, UN Charters and the respect for national sovereignty.
