The ever brilliant Ron Paul analyses current events such as the Manchester tragedy, and points at the big picture of how such acts of terror is but a part of the larger wars that the USA and UK have been part of for a long time in the Middle East. In Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya and Syria millions have lost their lives over the years. In a way, it began in Afghanistan where the US helped the Taliban and then became the aggressor in that country, he states. The US has lost the moral high ground.
Ron Paul comments on Donald Trump’s bizarre trip to Saudi Arabia where the country now says it wants to fight extremism, while in fact the Wahhabism and its sunni-extremism is born and bred in Saudi Arabia. The country and its princes has nurtured and financed groups such as the Al Qaida and ISIS for years now. Trump stated that Iran was the root cause of sunni-extremism, (but Iran is a mainly shia country) and everyone knows the Wahhabi problem comes from Saudi.
Now here is the puzzling situation: ISIS and Al Qaida are the enemies of Bashar al-Assad in Syria. And we are the enemies of Assad. Iran is the enemy of ISIS and Al Qaida. And we (the US and its Western allies) are the enemies of Iran.
